Note: Myeongdong shopping district is a large pedestrian-friendly zone (see map below) where vehicles are generally not allowed, including to the Seoul Global Cultural Center.
Seoul Global Cultural Center is conveniently located in the heart of Myeongdong and offers good source of tourist information in English, Chinese and Japanese.
Popular among foreign visitors is its costume experience photo zone where visitors can try out 'Hanbok' (Korean traditional costumes) and accessories with their photographs taken on the beautifully-painted Gyeongbokgung Palace background wall.
This free Hanbok experience is available for on-site (only) reservation on the day itself (only) until all time-slots are filled, 10:00-17:00 (break-time 12:30-13:30).
In addition, various cultural programs and events (e.g. Korean Folk Painting, Pottery Making, Hanji - Korean Traditional Paper Crafts, POP Dance Class, FOOD Cooking Class, Korean Calligraphy, Korean Conversation Class, Seal Making Event) are held at the center to introduce Korean culture to visitors.
The center also has free WIFI Internet, Global ATM, Coin Lockers and rest area for the convenience of visitors.
