The Eungbongsan Mountain got its name from its shape resembling that of a hawk. Joseon Dynasty kings are said to have come here to hunt so it was called 'hawk peak'.
On the mountain peak at 95.3m, there is an octagonal pavilion, attracting visitors and photographers with its magnificent view of Han River, Seoul Forest, Jamsil Sports Complex and eastern part of Seoul.
Eungbongsan (mountain) is known for its sunrise event on the first day of the year, with performances at the Octagonal Pavilion.
Every April, Forsythia Festival was held here when forsythia (yellow flowers) covers the entire mountain creating a spectacular scenery.
