From Anguk Station (line 3, exit 6), go straight about 100m and turn left to Insadong-gil. You will enter the start of Insadong Main Shopping/Culture Street (i.e. Insadong-gil) that stretches about 630m till Dynamic Maze.
Insadong-gil is a pedestrian-friendly street where no vehicles allowed from 10:00 - 22:00.



Shops, cafes and restaurants lined both sides of Insadong-gil. You can also venture into the alleyways to discover more unique finds.

In the middle of the bustling city center of buildings and busy roads is a green oasis, Yeolrin Songhyeon Green Square, located just diagonally across the road from the start of Insadong-gil Shopping Street or 2 mins walk from Anguk Station (line 3, exit 1).
The 'good-sized & not-too-large' park features seasonal flowers (e.g. rapeseed flowers, daisies, cosmos, poppies, peonies, daffodils, roses) and art sculpture exhibits where you can take a break and get invigorated with nature in between your travelling. There are walking trails, rest areas and restrooms in the park.

Located across the road (Ujeongguk-ro) from Anyoung Insadong/Nine Tree by Parnas Seoul Insadong is a traditional temple, Jogyesa Temple.
Jogyesa Temple is a representative Korean Buddhist temple and the headquarter of the Jogye Order. It is founded in 1910 during the Japanese Colonial Rule (1910 - 1945).
The temple held several festivals annually including the popular Lotus Lantern Festival on Buddha's Birthday (Apr - May) and Jogyesa Chrysanthemum Festival in Autumn (Oct). It also offers temple stay programs for overseas visitors to experience the Korean Buddhist culture.

One of the main attractions at Insadong is Ssamziegil, a traditional culture and shopping complex selling the prettiest creative items. There are around 70 shops and restaurants in the 4-storey open-concept building.

Museum Kimchikan is selected by CNN as one of the World's Top 11 Food Museums in March 2015. It is a museum where the various aspects and stories of kimchi are interestingly preserved. There are kimchi tasting corner and hands-on kimchi-making experience too.

Autumn Foliage in Insadong & Around

Insadong and its surrounding areas are well-known for their magnificent autumn foliage in fall.
Insadong-gil Shopping Street
Along the main shopping street of Insadong, Insadong-gil Street is lined with tall gingko trees on both sides of the road. The gingko leaves turned to full golden yellow in autumn later than its surrounding areas though.


Yulgok-ro Road
When you stepped out of Auguk Station (line 3) onto Yulgok-ro Road in autumn, you will see brightly-coloured yellow gingko trees lining beautifully on both sides of the road.
The gingko trees are extended along the road towards Bukchon Hanok Village and Changdeokgung Palace & Secret Garden on one side; the other side stetches towards Gyeongbokgung Palace and Seochon Hanok Village in about 2km long.


Ujeongguk-ro Road


Ujeongguk-ro Road that runs along the side of Insadong and in front of Jogyesa Temple is another stretch of gingko trees. The gingko tree-lined road stretches till Jonggak Station (line 1) in about 550m long.
